Earley’s Falls

Earley Landing Falls is one of two small waterfalls on Big Wilson Stream. Access is quite easy. It is only a few feet off ME 150, minutes away from Tobey Falls. Second, the entire picture that is painted at the falls is splendid. From the bridge viewpoint, you get a setting sure to please any artist-a nicely landscaped country house, a path of hemlock woods, a wide, pretty river, and a segmented set of 8-foot tall cascades. The falls are about 300 feet upstream from the bridge, so bring a telephoto and/or super-telephoto lens and a tripod for your camera if you have one.

The falls are visible upstream from a bridge on Airport Rd that is only 100 feet north of ME 150. From Guilford, take ME 150 north. Drive 12.8 miles on ME 150 north and park in a pull-off on the left side of the road 200 feet after passing Airport Rd (marked as Earley S Camp Rd and Ship Pond Stream Rd on some maps) on your left. There is no parking allowed on Airport Rd. From the parking area, walk 200 feet heading west along ME 150 south and turn right onto Airport Rd. Descend 100 feet on Airport Rd and look to your left as you cross a bridge. The falls can be seen 300 feet upstream from the bridge. Views of the falls are limited to the bridge as they are surrounded by heavily posted private property.
